Report in the Public Interest (Wales Audit Office)

On June 2019, the Wales Audit Office published the report attached below in the Public Interest;

Audit of Accounts 2015-16 and 2016-17 – failures in financial management and governance – Glynneath Town Council

To assist in clarifying matters relating to the Wales Audit Office Report in the Public Interest, below is a statement from the Wales Audit Office:

“Our report sets out a number of failures in financial management and internal control at Glynneath Town Council and makes recommendations to address those failures. We are not reporting that anyone acted dishonestly and abused their position (misfeasance). If we had found any evidence to give us a belief that a criminal act had occurred we would have reported the matter to the police and in this case we did not.” Wales Audit Office
