100% Funded Welfare Park Transformation Project – Phase One: Play
Glynneath Town Council are delighted to announce that the first phase of the Glynneath Welfare Park Transformation Project is set to commence in the next months thanks to 100% funding of over £800,000.
Over the last six months, Glynneath Town Council has secured funding from Maesgwyn Community Benefit Fund, Selar, Pen y Cymoedd, and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council’s Minor Projects Fund to transform the bowls green, tennis courts, and teen park into their most ambitious project to date.
Phase One: Play will see the bowls green become a children’s park catering for those up to eleven years old while the tennis courts will see a full refurbishment and the reconfiguration to three tennis courts and a MUGA. The teen park will be completely overhauled and will boast a double zip-line ready for summer races!
Extensive consultation has seen the community of Glynneath canvased and the youngest in our community have positioned inclusive equipment as one of their top priorities – we couldn’t be more proud!
To our funders and supporters: Pennant Walters, Pen y Cymoedd, NPTCBC, and Selar, we say a heartfelt thank you and we really could not have done something like this without you.
To our community, this is long overdue and you deserve every swing, slide, and trampoline of this success.
