Council are delighted to report on a thorough internal audit which provided four recommendations for best practices in our year going forward. Members are pleased to report that some of these recommendations were already implemented at the beginning of this financial year (2024-2025) and that plans are well underway for others to take place in the next two months.
Paperwork has been sent to the Welsh Audit Office in advance of their 5th of July deadline and we continue to pursue the best way of sharing the information with the public throughout this whole process. Monthly bank reconciliations and payment schedules continue to be provided through the monthly meetings. Budget sheets, when arranged quarterly, will also be available through the agendas and Minutes, with full-year budgets available through the accounts section.
WAO will begin to process the external audits of the accounts in September.
